Love like a
Princess
By Amelia Rose
For My
Prince Charming
If Cinderella, in old age could remember
Those times of her young love’s bliss
She wouldn’t know what I know now
The bliss of my
true love’s kiss
If Aladdin’s lover felt a charmed wind
On her magic carpet ride
She wouldn’t know the enchantment I knew
In your arms, in our youth, as your bride
If Snow White felt joy from her motherly role
Among her seven little dears
She wouldn’t know the love I’ve discovered
As mother to your children, these years
If the Little Mermaid defied waves of dissent
Made by her kingdom in the sea
She wouldn’t know how fiercely I’d fight
If someone tried to take you from me
If Sleeping Beauty in guarded duty
Could wake from her waking dreams
She wouldn’t know fiction from truth
But my reality is just as it seems
If the Beauty who tamed the ferocious Beast
Knew to weather the storms of life
She wouldn’t understand the wisdom I’ve learned
And the love that I know as your wife
