“And many hearts died, pierced with deep wounds.” Jacob 2:35

The Sorrow of Israel

Maher Shalal Hash Baz
Destruction is Imminent
In the valley of the shadow
Is death.
The agony of the hardened heart
The despair of the broken one
Ye have broken the hearts of your tender wives
Ye have reviled them
Ye have raped them
Ye have stoned them
For your crimes
Ye have lost the confidence of your children
Because they see you for what you really are.
Ye have wrested the scriptures
For ye seek to excuse yourselves in committing whoredoms
But there is no excuse
The sobbings of their hearts ascend up to God against you.
O ye wicked generation
I the Lord have seen the sorrow
And heard the mourning of the daughters of my people
Yea in all the lands of my people.
I will not suffer
That the cries of the fair daughters of this people
Shall come up unto me against the men of my people.
Wo unto you that are filthy this day
The land is cursed for your sakes
And your enemies shall scourge you
Even unto destruction.
But to the pure in heart:
Those wounded souls among you,
Pray. With faith.
Look. With firmness.
And He will console you in your afflictions.
He will plead your cause.
He will send down justice upon those who seek your destruction.
Oh hear me, Israel. Wo unto you
For many hearts died, pierced with deep wounds
Because of your bad examples before them.

The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned. - William Somerset Maugham

And:

"To any action there is always an opposite and equal reaction; in other words, the actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal and always opposite in direction." - Sir Isaac Newton

For the record: Sir Isaac Newton was wrong. ;)

Love in Suspension
By: Amelia Rose
For Eponine

A modern work of art
Suspended from the rafters
In the heart of the museum
Filtered in all its colors
Translucent, Effervescent
A frozen pixel in time
Zoom in, you’ll see it clearer
Zoom out, you’ll see the bigger picture
A pixel suspended in neutral space
Betimes a-spinning wildly
Until the pendulum
Stops
But an object in motion cannot stop
Unless acted on by an outside force
And an object at rest
Must stay at rest
Unless something prompts a change
It’s basic physics
Who will touch this pendulum? Who will stop it?
Who will start it swinging anew?
Especially when there is a sign on display:
“Please do not touch the art.”
A rebel. A daredevil. Maybe you?
Basic physics shall prevail.
A heart cannot be broken, if gravity never pulls it down
Crashing it to the floor
Let it float on, untouched, unchanging
It will not grow, it will not thrive
It will just be as it’s always been
But at least it will not be broken.
Suspended love
Upended love
Love that’s not really love at all
Just a work of art
On a heart
The background music of a life
Love in Suspension
